Challenge:

What it be link to wake up and find yourself in the middle of a math word problem? That's what life is like for Peg and Cat, the heroes of this animated math-based adventure series and digital suite for 3-5 year olds, on PBS KIDS.

The challenge was to create a digital suite of games and interactive features that encourage kids to approach math with the same sense of playfullness and humor as the television series. How might we keep kids engaged and motivated even when things don't always work the first time?

Outcome:

This PBS KIDS website (pbskids.org/peg) and suite of digital games was produced for The Fred Rogers Company in collaboration with CloudKid, Schell Games, and Curious Media. The site includes a 24 games, digital storybooks and activities (and counting!) that lets kids race a pizza-mobile, make a cake, build a spaceship for chickens, and more!
